A Better Kind of Caregiving
MonAmi™ is a 21st century innovation that reinforces active aging, enhances quality of life, supports Caregivers, and allows for independent and structured living.
Mon Ami™ consists of two parts. One is an interactive device – an electronic companion – that resides in the home. The other is the Mon Ami™ Web Portal, which enables the Caregiver to remotely manage Mon Ami™ using any Internet browser. This allows them to assist their loved ones at a convenient place and time, thus reducing stress and magnifying the caregiving potential.
Through the use of transparent Plug and Play technology, Mon Ami™ provides a vast array of services and functionality. Mon Ami™ can read books aloud, provide the weather forecast, date and time, play music, send and receive emails, provide journal facility to monitor progress on treatments, record memoirs, provide entertainment and news updates through Internet radio and much more.
To assist the user with daily routines, the multilingual Mon Ami™ can announce medication, mealtime or exercise reminders, automatically control lights and appliances, issue reminders for outside events, appointments or special days in the lives of family and friends, notify the Caregiver if action needs to be taken, and many more beneficial functions.
The MonAmi™ Care Portal allows a professional Caregiver to effectively look after more than one person virtually, allowing them to focus on those who need extra support as well as automating daily tasks and bringing more structure to their role as Caregiver.
"Social isolation leads to the double jeopardy of declining health and reduced mobility. It is equally well known that perfunctory carer visits at the beginning and end of each day can actually magnify feelings of isolation and loneliness in between for patients who need long-term care. Equally, caregivers (particularly family caregivers), suffer the stress-laden effects of this dilemma through unbearable pressure of time, or perceived neglect-driven feelings of guilt. Mon Ami™ addresses the dichotomy between the cared for and the carer in a positive and fulfilling fashion.”
